Discovering the surroundings from the water is a unique experience. Almost entirely alone on the water, you can explore the islands in Lake Orsa while paddling. We rent out 2 canoes, 4 kayaks, and 2 SUPs for that extra bit of challenge. Come to the reception for more information and to make a reservation.

Fishing
At the front of the lake, the water is shallow for a long distance, but on the side where the river flows into Lake Orsa, you can fish perfectly well from the shore. We have a rowboat available for rent. You can purchase your fishing license via ifiske.se

Fireplace
The fireplace by the water is a lovely gathering place where you can enjoy the long summer evenings and roast marshmallows, for example.

Right by the water is a children’s playground with a slide and swings. A little further on, there is a volleyball court for slightly older children and teenagers.
The water is shallow for the first 150 meters of the lake, making it very suitable for young children. You can swim immediately at the side by the river. For the very little ones, we have created a play corner centrally located on the campsite, under the covered terrace.

Painting Activity

During the high season, we organize a weekly painting morning. Everyone is welcome to choose a wooden animal and paint it.

It is also good to know that we are a small-scale campsite and do not provide busy entertainment.

Gammelgård
Gammelgården (the old garden) is a 15-minute walk from the campsite. It is a beautiful place with about twenty old buildings where the famous baskets and hairpins are still made in the traditional way. There is a small shop where you can buy beautiful handmade souvenirs. During the summer season, activities are regularly organized for young and old, and at Midsummer there is a big celebration with music and dance. Discover more about Gammelgård here.

Våmhus hemslöjd – minigolf
A small shop in Våmhus that sells local souvenirs. There is also a small mini-golf course at this shop. You can read more about this place here.

Levebröd – Artisan sourdough bread
Baking sourdough bread the traditional way. That is what they do at Levebröd in Bäcka. Just 10 minutes from the campsite, you can pick up the best sourdough bread and kanelbullar on Fridays. You can find more information here.

Swedish playgrounds sometimes look very different. This place proves that once again. Everything here is homemade, and something is constantly being added. To visit this place, it takes 20 minutes by car, but it is fun to combine with a visit to Mora, for example. You can find more information about this creative place here

Closer to the campsite, a 10-minute bike ride away, there is a smaller version of this place in the forest called Sagostig. It is a (storytelling) route through the forest with homemade crafts everywhere. The crafts are mostly made by the children from the daycare. Very fun for young children.

Hiking and cycling
Surrounded by endlessly beautiful nature, there are many opportunities for hiking and cycling. You can walk straight into nature from the campsite, but the marked hiking trails of the Siljansleden do not start directly from the campsite. A beautiful cycling route around Lake Orsa does start directly from the campsite.

Mountain bike trails
To the west of Lake Orsa you will find a large forest with sandy paths that are very suitable for mountain biking. You can cycle straight here from the campsite. You can also visit Orsa Grönklitt, where there are various marked mountain bike trails, as well as a course.
